James Truman, editor of US men’s magazine Details, said to The New York Times in 1992: “To me the thing about grunge is it’s not anti-fashion, it’s un fashion. Punk was anti-fashion. It made a statement. Grunge is about not making a statement, which is why it’s crazy for it to become a fashion statement”.
What most appeals to me about grunge is that there is no attempt to be anybody else. There is no attempt to make a statement, yet there is full freedom to pair your favourite pair of baggy jeans, layered with your old torn t-shirts and wild unkempt hair. I completely adore the look, and the fact that it was done last year makes no difference to that!
Denim, layers, plaid, baggy clothes, flannel shirts and chunky shoes.
Shop at the thrift store, and team it up with your statement pieces in a unique way. Make your own statement!
Grunge is just AMAZING. Izzy xo

I agree! I love that there are no 'acceptables' and 'unacceptables' in working the grunge look. xx
